Flag Rugby for ages 4-8

rugby-2Athletics play a key role in a child’s development. They teach children to follow rules, take turns, win and lose, develop discipline, work as a team, interact with other students in their community, and achieve a sense of camaraderie and belonging. These skills are essential building blocks that prepare children for the real world and larger responsibilities of society once they graduate high school and reach adulthood.

Pathways sports teams are a great opportunity for students to explore and learn the rules of a multitude of sports such as rugby, football, basketball, and more! They will be able to increase their coordination, increase focus and attention spans, and following directions. The sports programs all have a challenging, but less competitive feel to them so students can focus more on having fun and developing social skills. These programs can also serve as segues into more competitive teams if students are interested.

Coaches in these programs are trained and have many years of experience working with students of all abilities. The drills are typically broken down into smaller components and the games into manageable and fun experiences. Most importantly, all of our sports programs use the “children teaching children” model and have mentors that act as buddies to the children which helps them learn even more how to enjoy all kinds of sports on the fields and courts.

Our flag rugby program is non-contact and uses waist flags that player pull instead of tackling. Come join in us for lots of fun and social interaction!
