Intro to Java (Ages 7-12)

Prerequisite:  Intro to Block Programming

Welcome to Pathways’ Java class!  This class is recommended for students with a knowledge of block coding.  All students that register for this class must have taken our Intro to Block Programming class. Students will write their first basic lines of code. As the course progresses, the students will be introduced to the functions that will help them write a program to solve math problems and print statements they write.  We will also mix in some block coding to continue to build skills there!  The program will take place in Pathways Computer Lab where the children will work on iMac computers.

Class Instructor:  Sara Takhim, Aneek Mahajan and other students from the Morris School of Technology. These instructors have a passion for computer programming and have received a lot training that will help students in the class learn and grow in their understanding of Java programming.  Melinda Jennis will be the adult instructor.
